Time to Rock n Roll!

It has been lovely meeting so many new and familiar faces this week. The children have loved our new, revised program which has been so encouraging!

Our program embraces Kodaly and Orff methodology which is most perfect for young children. Why? The Kodály approach to teaching music asserts that musical concepts, creativity, and collaboration are best taught in group music lessons. According to the method, music teachers should emphasize musical material that is connected to their students' culture and heritage. So, you might notice we are using well known Folk Songs that are apart of our culture. What is Folk? People. Folk music is music of the people. We have a strong Aussie theme this term to establish this loud and clear!

And Orff? Carl Orff's musical teaching philosophy richly promotes play based learning, freely feeling beat, rhythm and pitch in the body. A child's natural response to music is where we start and develop through activities to further explore their creativity.

Enjoy watching and connecting with your children in classes, it is undeniably rewarding when you see them blossom in their musicianship, confidence, social and individual awareness. The washing can wait, babes don't keep!
